Jack Bushmeyer's 1970 911T

We ran across Jack Bushmeyer at a local autocross recently and as we were taking pictures of his very nice autocross and track-prepared 1970 911T, we struck up a conversation.  It turns out that his wife purchased the car new from Stoddard some 44 years ago.

Jack told us how he test drove the car at the Stoddard back in 1970, but decided that he couldn't quite swing the car, even with a nearly-new 914 as a trade.   Much to his surprise, the next time he returned from a business trip, his wife picked him up at the airport in that very same 911T.   She said that Chuck gave her a good deal—too good to pass up—and she purchased the 1970 911T,  which was equipped with what was known as a "Stoddard Kit" of tuned Zenith carburetors.

The 911T has remained in their care since then, making trips to local tracks and autocrosses regularly.  It's been tweaked along the way—you can spot rear flares, the fiberglass front bumper and rear tail and set of really wide Hoosier autocross tires under the fenders.   Jack has fun with the car and has no plans to replace it!
