912 Rendezvous: 15 Years Strong!

For a number of years now, we’ve been attending the Porsche 912 Registry’s Rendezvous event. It’s somewhat telling that we keep coming back, as this event is certainly one worth putting on your calendar year after year. Admittedly we love Porsche’s 912 as an extension of the 356 line of cars, but it is often the owners of these cars that really makes the difference.

356 Steering Pegs

You’ve spent considerable time and money on the body and trim of your 356, but have you paid attention to the running gear? Often the most forgotten area is the front suspension, and especially the steering part of it. You’ve probably rebuilt the outer spindles and replaced the tie rod ends. But, most often neglected is the steering gearbox.

Know Your Nozzles

The early 911 and 912 short wheelbase cars did not use electric rear window defrosters—instead they directed warm air from the heat exchangers to clear off the back glass. The defroster nozzles were stamped steel and like most metal things on an early Porsche—rusted like nobody's business. We have accurate recreations of these nozzles available for sale as a pair with large rubber grommets and securing straps.

Properly restoring a vintage Porsche isn't cheap, nor can you accomplish the job quickly. We understand that—so we often see the need for replacement parts that will shave off little bits of time and more often than not, large amounts of budget.
For example, We offer a set of new rain or wind deflectors for the 356 that cost far less than it would take to properly strip, polish and chrome plate to Factory standards. And of course, we've got them in stock and can ship them out today!

Ignition Switch Bezels and Spacers

Porsche used a variety of different ignition switch bezels to match the different configurations as steering column locks were added in 1968 and dashboards were redesigned in 1969 and 1974. We've been working on exact recreations of all of the bezel versions with a more UV-stable plastic so they won't go grey with age.

MFI Injection Line Set

On a mechanically injected 911, the fuel is fed from the pump to the injectors through a series of hard steel lines that have a very complex series of angles and bends to wiggle their way around the intake throttle stacks. We've got new sets of replacement lines that are properly yellow Zinc coated and have proper bends and flares to make installation easy.

For Sale: 1968 911L

A longtime customer of ours has a beautiful Polo Red 1968 911L for sale. The car is the product of a year long restoration conducted by Special Edition, Inc in Bremen, Indiana. The car was found in Texas and all four owners are known with full documentation and service history.

The 911L underwent a bare metal respray in Glasurit single stage paint in its original color while much of the trim and mechanicals were redone.
The car is currently located in Southern California and is ready to be seen and driven.

This Just In: Right-Hand Drive Late 356 Mats!

We have a large contingent of customers that live in pretty cool places around the globe—even if they do drive on the wrong side of the road. We decided to make a small batch of rubber front floor mats that are for Right Hand Drive 356B T6 and 356C cars. These have all the correct impressions and cut-outs for our friends in the UK, Australia and elsewhere.
