Home Stretch for our 911

We're working on the interior and glass installation on our 911 project.  It's nice to be on the homestretch on this long-term project.  Our 911 might have spent 15 or so years in a barn in Montana, but our progress last few months has been agonizingly slow as we have waited for various parts of the project to come together.

Our interior was in relatively good shape.  The chocolate brown seat covers had been replaced at some point by some generic naugahyde vinyl that didn't match the original leatherette texture.  We treated the car to a pair of new proper seat covers that are a much closer match to original.

Carpet for the 1973.5 911T is a lot more like the later style velour.  We chose a dark brown velour that matched some samples of unfaded original pieces.  While the texture of the bound edges isn't perfect, it's a very close match color-wise. We are still working out some wrinkles in the carpet as we wait for the next step.

Speaking of the next step, the glass guy has picked up our rear window and seal to run the two-stage defroster wires inside the seal.  It's a tricky job and one of the few that we've farmed out on this project.  We'll be installing one of our new windshields.  when he comes back to complete our job.
