Images from the 2016 East Coast Holiday

This past weekend, the 356 Registry held its 2016 East Coast Holiday in nearby Akron, Ohio. There were over 200 cars in attendance and plenty of more Registry members from all over the country and Canada.

We invited folks up here for lunch and a shop tour on Friday and we attended the festivities in Hudson that night. On Saturday, there was the Concours at the Glenmoor Country Club. We shot some pictures, talked with a bunch of people and had a great time.

In the future, If you ever have a chance to see go to a Holiday--or even pop in to see the Autocross or Concours, you should!

The Friday morning Tech Session Q&A was led by Chuck Stoddard with Brad Ripley contributing.  Chuck talked about 356 history as well as some of his own unique and interesting tales from back in the day,  including the day that he bought his first 917.  Photo courtesy of Daniel Mainzer

The lunch at Stoddard included sandwiches from Potbelly's and after everyone was fed,  they could tour our office and meet with our sales staff.

Bruce was giving tours of the warehouse.

And some pretty cool cars started showing up out in our parking lot. It almost started looking like our annual Swap Meet here.  Tom Tate and Katie Carton brought this 1958 Speedster from Massachusetts.

There was a large contingent of 356s that were driven up here from Florida.

In addition to the four-wheel pets in the parking lot, there were several four-legged pets cruising through the office.

We had visitors from Canada on Friday, including this nice family.

Another Snowbird from Florida.

A or B Cab?  What's your preference?  Allen Peerson and Bev Davis's 1959 parked outside our office.

This beautiful Bent-Window Coupe Pre-A got us all tingly.  Craig and Stacie Rennick's 1953 Pre-A Coupe won the Outlaw class at the Concours on Saturday.

Cars lined up around the square in Hudson, Ohio for the Friday night happenings.

Bright yellow is an unusual color for the 356, but we think this one wore it well.

The gathering for the Concours at Glenmoor Country Club.

Chip Perry's immaculate 1953 American Roadster showed up at the autocross as well as the Concours—and won Peoples' Choice Best in Show award!

It wasn't all early cars—this late 356SC was well turned out.

Of course, we were there enjoying the show—rain and shine!

Neat little spare oil cans and spark plugs in a handmade aluminum holder—typical in days gone by.

Anybody call for a Cab?  There were some Uber-nice ones there!  Sandy Kemper and Anne Gavin's 1964C representing well.

As well as a line-up of Roadsters and Speedsters.  Alvin and Donna Tuck's 1960 356B Roadster sits aside Ted Ricci's white '62.

A trio of very nice trophy-winning Pre-As.  Bob and Sue Schmidt's Grey 1953 and Chuck and Cynthia Stoddard's Blue 1954 flank George Kehler's 1955 Terracotta 1955Pre-A Coupe.

Lee and Neil Schlabaugh from Wellman, Iowa drove this barnfind A that was mechanically refreshed. It looked scruffy—but very appealing.

Harry Burnstein's 1956 356A 1500GS Carrera was on display with its fitted luggage.  We were told that the Original Porsche luggage was won as door prize at 1957 Parade.  That's cool!

Mark Schultz from Marcy, NY won the "Future Enthusiast" Award for his 1961 Cabriolet. Photo courtesy of Daniel Mainzer.
