We've been getting updates from Trevor Gates, the winner of our We Can Save Them All contest.  While the prize will certainly help Trevor get his 356A back on the road, he's still got a long way to go to get there.  

When Porsche announced that they'd be making their fifth Rennsport Reunion this year at Laguna Seca, it was difficult to contain our excitement. Just a few hours drive away from our Reno, NV office, and probably the largest gathering of Porsche cars that the world has seen since the last time they had one of these four years ago. We packed our bags with a smile, and headed for Monterey! Here are a handful of photos of our favorite sights and a few of our friends who made the journey to race. 

   The 356 Registry holds an annual "Drive Your 356 Day" in September. This year it was on September 20th—but we'll go out on a limb and say it's a good day to drive any Porsche!
    If you're a Registry member out and about in your 356, don't forget to snap a picture! The 356 Registry is accepting one image and caption by email per member until September 28th. You can submit the picture to the Registry here. 
    We like this idea so much that we're going to expand it somewhat. If you've got your Porsche (any model) out that weekend, send a picture, caption and your postal address to us here at Stoddard. We'll pick the top five images and post them online—and we'll send the winners a free Stoddard Authentic Parts T-shirt.  

We were recently asked to evaluate Janis Joplin's Porsche 356SC (Note--the chassis and engine numbers indicate that the car is actually an SC) Cabriolet and we took some detail shots of the most famous 356 in existence. RM Sotheby's will be selling the car on December 10th as a part of its "Driven to Disruption" promotion. 

Over the weekend, we took a trip to Concord, California for the NorCal Vintage VW and Porsche Treffen. The show was celebrating its tenth year, and it's amazing the quantity and quality of cars that the show attracted. There was everything in attendance from a brand new 991 GT3 all the way back to a pair of early 1950s Pre-As in both coupe and cabriolet flavor. It was one of the better shows we've been to in a while, and we really hope it continues to grow. While we were in California for the Dana Point Concours, we stopped by Trevor Gates' house to check out his 356A Project.  He was the winner of our "We Can Save Them All" contest with his car.

A high point of our yearly event calendar is the Dana Point Concours hosted by the 356 Club of Southern California. We sponsor the event and love to help support the club—we even jump in and help judge a couple of the Concours classes. With a beautiful location within view of the Pacific and an amazing group of beautiful and unique Porsches in attendance, this event was memorable for all who were there.

Cars and Coffee is an exciting car show featuring some fascinating cars that turn up for a brief car show on a Saturday morning. Stoddard was at the Tustin event on July 25th. Here's what we found there.

Our 1982 911SC gets a new interior that helps it stand out. This tan just isn't doing the car any favors. 

We have added a new prize the Stoddard collection – a 1982 911 SC. Not long ago this generation of 911 was considered too new to be a classic, and often lost in the shadow of the long hood cars. But in the past few years interest in the SC has increased dramatically as more people are appreciating these wonderful driver’s cars.
