LA Lit Meet Video Posted

Still photography can capture some of the flavor of an event, but for the Lit Meet this year, we decided to show you our weekend in a quick video that follows us from taking off in Ohio to California and our return. Of course, we also have quite a selection of images from the events on our Facebook page here. We had a great time—meeting lots of new customers and friends alike. If you haven't been, you should put it on your calendar for 2017.

New Correct Paint and Chassis Plates

Chassis number and paint plates went through an evolution as the Factory developed the early 911 and 912 cars. We noticed that some of the early short wheelbase cars and later long wheelbase "longhoods" had slight variations from year to year. We just released two such variants—the one on the right in the image actually has a slightly larger area for the Chassis number.

Tuning In

A good restoration is all about getting the details correct—even your choice of dealer-installed radio antenna matters if you're paying attention. We have a full selection of Hirschmann antennas for the 356 911 and 912. While there were some inconsistencies with what an individual dealership installed on your car when it was new, we have all of the most commonly used period-correct aerials.

Knee Pads

We strive to keep the restoration parts flowing and 911 and 912 dashboard kneepads have been quite the struggle as replacements have been on backorder. We've got a new batch in stock, but quantities are limited. If yours are chewed up, now is a good time to get some new ones!

356 Fresh Air Intake Connectors

  We find it amusing that people refer to old and cracked rubber as "perished" —consider it one of those amusing crossroads of the English language and the rubber aging process.
    It turns out that pretty much every late 356's fresh air intake plenum connector hoses have long since perished—and there haven't been any new ones for ages. We have new sets now in stock that work great!

Beautiful Brown Bathtub

Jack Keyes has a very nice concours condition 1965 356SC Cabriolet for sale in one of our favorite colors, Togo Brown. The exterior and top were refurbished in 2012, while the interior and undercarriage is all original. The numbers-matching Cab is listed at $249,950.

We Can Save Them All Update

Our contest winner, Trevor Gates, has been working on his doors at Jack Stagg's shop in San Clemente, California. The inner sections have been reconstructed and he's tacked the outer skin repair sections on. He's been posting updates on the 356 Registry's Forum—You can see the latest updates by clicking below.

Early Battery Cover and Tray for 911

The bits and pieces around the battery compartment are often lost as batteries go dead and are replaced. The straps and cables corrode and in the past it might have just made more sense to replace them with generic one-size-fits-most options. We've moved past that now with many older Porsches and we want them to be as the Factory intended and we've got those bits in stock.
