NLA-351-033-00 Drum Brake Shoe Set

Stoddard Exclusive: Brake Drum Shoes

Stoddard brake shoes are made here in America using the highest quality components. Each new backing plate is laser cut and then assembled using state of the art computer-controlled TIG welding. The backing plate ends are finished with proper coining to better fit the cylinders. The friction material is bonded to our plates with asbestos free lining applied by the largest manufacturer of brake shoes here in the United States.
An axle set of our brake shoes (4)  is a great value at $179.50 and will fit 356, 356A, and 356B models. There is no core charge as we use all new material.

Early 911 and 912 Defroster Outlet Grommet

The early short-wheelbase 911 and 912 is an interesting duck. While it looks largely like the later cars, many of the parts and how ways in which they're put together are much more similar to the earlier 356.
The forced air heating system, for example, uses slides and outlets that look like those on a 356. It's a more complicated way to put a car together and you can see how as the 911's production numbers grew, they pared down the parts count to speed up assembly at the Factory.
Where are we going with all this ancient history?  Well, we recently located some grommets that seals the rear defroster tubes into the parcel tray—the originals have been unavailable for years. Ours are sold in sets of two for under $6.

597-104-305-00 Valve Cover for 356

Porsche Classic Valve Covers

There's not much you can do to make your original valve covers look good if they've been banged around—it's not like you can apply a layer of filler and paint them like dinged-up fender! The only option is replacement.
The Factory has recently released new valve covers for the 356 and 912 flat-four engines. The valve covers are supplied with a yellow zinc finish that can be painted or left as-is depending on how your originals were finished.

911 and 912 Hinge Pillar Repair

If you take the front fenders off a 911 or 912 (and if you're restoring one, this is a foregone conclusion) you'll notice that a bunch of muck have collected between the lower tail of the fender and the rocker panel, as well as the bottome portions of the door hinge post.  This hinge post will eventually rust and it's a really complicated stamping.  We've got great little repair pieces in stock that make this a pretty easy repair.  They are stamped out of galvanized steel to make the repair much more resistant to corrosion in the future.

Porsche Classic Carrera Decals

If you're restoring a Carrera RS or making an authentic recreation, we've got the original Porsche vinyl decals to finish the job off correctly. The "Carrera" script runs along the doors and the "PORSCHE" is applied under the ducktail on the rear engine lid.

For Sale: Top Of The 912 Market?

In the words of vintage Porsche maestro, John Willhoit, "This is my personal car that is for sale. It's a completely original "survivor" with zero paint touch up and zero rust or body damage, not even a door ding. All seals are original, all chrome is original except the wheels, all engine tin and suspension parts have the original paint, and the complete interior is original."
At nearly $150,000 you have to wonder if this is the top of the 912 market?  Possibly, but it sure looks like an amazing opportunity to have an almost-new 912 to us.

Break-In Oil from Motul

If you're planning an engine rebuild in the near future, you should pick up some break-in oil from Motul. The oil is specially formulated to give just the right friction levels to help seat the piston rings without glazing. The mineral-based oil is also enhanced with zinc to also help the camshaft and followers wear in correctly. You've spent a bunch of money on the parts for the rebuild—protect your investment on during the initial start up!

Porsche Factory Race Driver: Classics Are Meant To Be Driven Fast.

Patrick Long, a Porsche Factory driver, recently did an interview with Petrolicious that speaks to how our vintage Porsches are meant to be driven. We heartily approve this message—drive them hard like they were meant to be.
