Happy New Year—we are celebrating all of the new parts and opportunities there are for crazy Porsche people like us. We are looking forward to 2015 as we've got lots of new parts in the pipeline for your 356, 911 and 912. We are going to be stocking more parts for the later 930, 964 and 993 cars as we see the interest in maintaining and restoring these growing daily.
Motul in Stock!
Motul has been making high performance lubricants for over 150 years that are world renowned and revered by the hardcore enthusiasts. Stoddard is proud to announce that we are their newest dealer. We're stocking all of the oils that you need for your classic or modern Porsche here in our Ohio warehouse.
New Year Painting
Continuing his tradition of the classic racing-inspired New Year painting films, Nicholas Hunziker shows off his very first painting for 2015. This short film is set to music and it's simply mesmerizing!
Warehouse Artifact: Litronic Conversion Kit for 993 We have plenty of parts for later 911s currently in stock, including some nifty parts for the 964 and 993-chassis cars. We've got a Litronic conversion kit for the 993 cars that's a heck of a deal at $2500, which is approximately half of the original dealer cost!
New Factory 911 Oil Coolers During the course of an engine rebuild, you should always make sure that your oil cooler is clean and free of debris. It makes zero sense to send all that crud through your newly-built engine. Porsche Classic parts has reintroduced the oil cooler for 1965 through 1971 911s. These first 911s used threaded fittings on the oil cooler instead of slip-on fittings. They are not interchangeable. As you'd expect, the Factory part fits and performs just like the original.
Beautiful Bali Blue
A longtime customer of ours has a beautiful Bali Blue 1965 356C Cabriolet for sale. The car was purchased in Naples, Florida from the original owner in 2006 and has been treated to full rotisserie restoration in Germany where it now resides. The numbers matching car even includes the matching Porsche luggage, which is specifically listed on the Kardex.
2015 Porsche Calendar
Porsche's yearly calendar blurs the line between art and functionality. It's easy to see why these are a hit around the office when we receive our annual batch from the Factory. Act fast, as these Porsche calendars sell out quickly around the New Year!
Bosch Headlight Lenses Like windshields, the headlight lenses of our Porsches withstand a good bit of abuse from flying stones and debris. Of cours, just like the windscreens, getting the proper replacements with period-correct logos is getting harder and harder these days. We have new lenses for the 356C and early 911 and 912 cars that are labeled with the original Bosch molding including H1 and H4 styles.
The proper finish on the 356 and 912 generator pulley is actually a silver color—not the gold zinc plating that comes on new replacements. We have new pulley sets of inner and outer halves that are correctly finished and ready to install for that proper look.
Stoddard Sheetmetal Saves Porsches In addition to the regular categories within our vast online webstore, we've also split off just the sheetmetal body and repair panels into their own subsection. The Stoddard sheetmetal section is divided into three sections: 356, 911/912 and 914—what are you saving today?
Panhandle Porsche Purgatory
The March issue of Hemmings Sports & Exotic Car has a feature on GK Restoration in Florida. GK Restoration specializes in early Porsches and their backyard is packed with parts cars that just begs the question: how far is too far gone when it comes to restoration? Journalist Richard Lentinello took some shots of these forlorn specimens and posted them on his online blog.
