Not Glamorous: Rocker Shafts.

Not many people wake up in the morning and say, "You know, I could really go for some rocker shafts—and let's make sure they're hollow like the originals." But that's exactly what our New Product Development guy said a few months ago—and now his wish is a reality. We've got a new selection of both short and long rocker shafts in the original hollow design in stock. They're for the later 356 and 912 engines with alloy rocker shaft supports.

356 Valve Spring Retainer

When some parts become unavailable, it's not just a matter of making do with what you have, it becomes a crisis for the Porsche community. Valve spring retainers for the the 356 are one such example. You simply can't rebuild an engine without eight of these little buggers.
We commissioned a new run of valve spring retainers and they're made right here in the United States out of through-hardened 4140L steel. They fit all 356s with single-groove valve keepers, typically seen on 356A and 356B engines.

Porsche Values Still Strong @ Monterey

Didn't make it to Monterey? Sports Car Market's Keith Martin has a quick recap of the events and auctions. His publication has some insightful reviews of market values and trends in classic car values, including this unrestored Speedster that fetched $600,000. Scruffy—but not cheap as the originality made it something special. The Monterey results will be further discussed in their November 2015 issue.

Koni Sale Almost Over...

Our sale on Koni shock absorbers is coming to a close. We've got less than two weeks before the sale is over. We would recommend that if you are planning any restorations or suspension work over the winter that you purchase your Konis now. Come September 1st, the prices will be returning to our normal market retail.

NorCal VW and Porsche Treffen

A couple of weekends ago, we took a trip to Concord, California for the NorCal Vintage VW and Porsche Treffen. The show was celebrating its tenth year, and it's amazing the quantity and quality of cars that the show attracted. There was everything in attendance from a brand new 991 GT3 all the way back to a pair of early 1950s Pre-As in both coupe and cabriolet flavor.

Shop Towels Back In Stock!

The original Porsche Factory shop towels were used in dealerships and came in the tool and travel kits. We have a new batch just in from Europe that's got the proper "P O R S C H E" in all capital letters. Add them to your car's concours or show display for those last few tenths of a point or just bragging rights.

The Littlest Details: Seat Hardware Set

There are more to our hardware kits than meets the eye. Take our NLA-521-015-00 Seat Recliner Set, which currently retails for $82.37. It's got 28 pieces and four of them are specially machined washers that are treated to a top quality triple-coat chrome finish. There are also 16 screws that are individually polished and then chrome plated as well. Topping this off are four fiber washers that offer just the right friction to keep your seat at the correct angle—and yes, those had to be machined specifically for this task. This isn't something you can put together with a trip to a big-box hardware store.

Ground Straps

A new penny doesn't stay shiny for that long—and much like our copper-clad $.01, the ground straps on a vintage Porsche will dull and go grey in short order. Issues with less-than-stellar ground contacts will cause no end to runnning and electrical issues. We've got correct and rather snappy-looking ground straps available for the 356, 911 and 912.

Protect Your Sump

That lump at the back of your 356 doesn't take well to getting smacked by road debris or scraped along rough or inclined roads. Our thick-gauge aluminum skid plate gives your engine an extra margin of protection against the rough and tumble roads out there. It's a bolt-on piece of mind for 356 drivers who actually drive their car.
