This is the simplest (and cheapest) ring compressor on the market. Fits 82 to 87mm pistons. It's made of spring steel and is compressed with pliers It takes some care (and lubricant) to be sure each ring is compressed correctly before tapping down the piston.
Note: Be sure the edge of the cylinder is smooth not to catch and break a ring.
