Everything Rusts—Especially These Bits.

Everyone talks about replacing floor pans, rocker panels and fenders as they succumb to rust, but one of the lesser known areas of concern are the pieces of sheetmetal that surround the little engine in the back. Water and grime will puddle in them—and thanks to their pretty basic and thin original paint—they quickly rusted out. This creates problems for aircooled engines as they rely on this sheetmetal to properly direct air around the cylinders. When you've got your engine out, take a careful look at these pieces, but rest assured, Stoddard has you covered.

When we set out to recreate the early 356 bumper guard, we didn't want to simply make something that would work or look approximately like the original. We went for perfection.
Our exclusive 356 and 356A bumper guards even have the original webbing in the back to help support the mounting stud—even the pickiest of owners or concours judges won't be able to tell the difference.

One of the coolest new parts from Porsche Classic this year is the their new radio system with navigation. We've installed one in our 1982 911SC and have found it helpful and easy to use—despite the fact that it's smaller size allows it to fit in traditional classic Porsche dashboards.

Barnfind Speedster Sells: 341K

RM Sotheby's Auction at Hershey on October 6-7 hammered a barnfind 1957 356A Speedster to a price of $341,000. Stored for over 40 years in a dry Texas barn, the mostly completey numbers-matching car needed a full restoration, but it's all-original condition will make for a relatively simple project.
But frankly, we think the fully restored Stone Grey 356A Speedster we featured in our last Newsletter from European Collectibles is a much better deal.
