2017 Lit Meet A Complete Success!

This was our first year of ownership of the LA Lit and Toy Show and thanks to a very seamless transition and the help of the previous owners, it went fabulously.  We started our week off with new Bus Tours to area Porsche businesses before the big event on Saturday.  It wasn't over then, though, as there were open houses on Saturday afternoon and a big Porsche car show on Sunday in Anaheim.

Bus Tours on Thursday and Friday:

Our first stop was Steve Hogue's Fabrication shop in Torrance.  This early 356 Pre-A was pretty moth-eaten, but it is being repaired properly.

Then we stopped by Callas Rennsport—they've got quite the range of customer cars.

Including this top-notch 914.  It has a late model 911 engine in there....

Next up was Nicolas Hunziker's shop, err,  art gallery—complete with a Lotus Formula Ford.

Nicolas's shirts are truly works of art, whether or not they're hung on a wall.

Across the way is Ed Rutherford's (in the middle, signalling a Personal Foul for Holding) shop, Klasse 356.

Ed had a selection of customer and shop cars on display outside.

Willhoit's in Long Beach is always a favorite stop. We brought two busloads of folks there on our Tour.

Makello's Classics in Escondido was a cool stop on one of our Bus Tours.

Autos International in Escondido has a shop full of Porsches and Ferraris getting top-notch interiors.

CPR's expansive facility in Fallbrook takes a while to tour—there is so much to look at!

Pelican Parts was having an Open House, showing off some toys

GTWerk in Los Alamitos was a fun stop.  They make lots of nifty Carrera GT trim parts.

Lit Meet on Saturday:

Saturday Morning, bright and early...It was time to lay out our display, including our new 60th Anniversary T-Shirts.

We brought two of our own cars out to display in front of the LAX Hilton, including our 35,000 mile original paint 1977 911S in the foreground.

Our staff worked alongside the previous organizers to insure an troublefree event.

Of course,  world famous characters in the Porsche world, like our Keith Finsley,  posed for selfies with enthusiasts like Magnus Walker on the left.

Peter Hofmann from Classic Parts in Germany had his Four-Cam Carrera motors on display.  These are exact duplicates of the original engines.  Spectacular!

Of course, there were entire truckloads of cool scale models for sale.

For almost all of the event, it was hard to walk from booth to booth—we were packed!

Saturday afternoon, we headed over to European Collectible's Open House.  This is their "Four-Cam Room"

Sunday's All-Porsche Car Show and Swap Meet at the Phoenix Club

We brought our cars over for the day.
